“"For differences between ourselves continue to drive a wedge between us. But by seeing differences as behavior based on blindness rather than willful desire to offend others, we can make each other more important without changing our own behavior"
—George Allen
This post is not meant as necessarily a swipe against anyone but to be an inquiry into certain confusing notions that have perplexed this individual over the past few months.
I am perfectly willing to concede I might be incorrect in what has been fermenting in my own mind if someone is willing to show me any contrary evidence. But there appears to be an obstinate blindness by many to actuality of our present circumstance.
I’ve been silent for a while because I am not comprehending the seeming bewitchment of those who are stuck on Trump simply being a rotten part of the apple that can be carved out and everything will return to normal once democrats return to power.
I have been finding myself totally baffled that the intelligentsia doesn’t seem to grasp that Trump is not an aberration but that democracy has been steering itself on a one-way street leading directly to Donald Trump for quite some time.
But I am probably not that bewildered in the sense that I saw the the inevitableness of Donald Trump forty years ago, and that others in my station outside of that intelligentsia have been trying to get a foothold into the dialogue that they (the intelligentsia) simply refuse to grant any other than themselves.
And by this exclusion, they (the intelligentsia) have locked themselves away as the platonic guides who must lead the way for all of us dumb-asses locked into only being able to see the shadows on the walls.
But to us dumbassees it appears the ones that can only see the shadows are those intelligentsia who presume to know what is best for us and haven’t the slightest idea that as long as we are presumed to be ignorantly viewing shadows that very presumption of us makes us refute the deification of your presumptions. But as long as you self-deify yourselves we will not ignorantly follow, we will think you are too ignorant to understand the corrupt deep state and the spacemen dwelling in our midst.
Okay you might begin by understanding what the Orwell you like to teach was actually warning the British the British of communism as if it that was the evil big brother. Orwell was writing of the tendency of the British democracy to use obfuscation and contradiction to retain power over the masses and to mislead or misdirect people by attempting to divert them into fear.
But he was writing against totalitarianism and the use of confusion to ensure the “leader(s)” remain in charge.
The problem that American democracy has faced is that if one needs to remain in power then that is itself undemocratic and if those in ivory towers and congressional halls presume the authority of officialdom beyond the abilities of others to officiate for themselves then the end game ultimately is the wrath that will build against them. In other words, those proclaimed ignorant will become ignorant because they will march away from those with the supposed wisdom because they will not hear any wisdom but their own.
I don’t know if there is any particular human drive for freedom except when they are unheard and they want to speak. The only thing essential about the anatomical structure of our brain is that that anatomy is designed to function by listening to others and others listening to others.
If only some can present the stories and they shut down society into the masses in the audience enraptured by the man behind the lectern. But the truth is the man behind the lectern is the one blinded to his audience.
And of course this intelligentsia can often be polars apart. I don’t think every thinker to be equal and the attraction to any will be the roots of my learning before sitting at the master’s feet. If that experience has not included the opportunity to dialogue with the masters but only sit in the audience then there is simply a fifty-fifty chance to which teacher will be followed, and then someone tells us about the aliens youtube at Area 51.
The confusions sown into the audience with the fears presented to conform the audience (using Orwell against communism; telling alabaster minds they will be replaced by brown and black ones; whatever fears are sown to create ignorance) to run towards their arms to be rescued from the tigers they set loose to chase others into their own compound.
But for the most part I never viewed the intelligentsia as inaccurate as much as I resented their presumption that their intelligence was superior. But as I began this article, I have become totally baffled by their clinging to the silliness that, first, there will be a legitimately contested election in the near by and by; and secondly that if there is, once we “restore” our democracy everything will be fine and we’ll all sail away into the democratic wonderland we had all previously lived in.
Well the first is pure folly that there will be an intentionally offered opportunity to vote on the new policies….I mean I keep writing to others who talk about this next election to give me any clues that they have discerned that I have been unable to discern about this election they imagine is going to take place. I am ignored or deleted…although I admit one writer has declared there will be because there has to be.
They decry the despotism’s undemocratic march and still think that after the despot’s unraveling of democracy they're going to offer people an opportunity to vote on whether theory like the unraveled no-longer democratic society.
All this tells me they are completely clueless about going forward. And of course that is the second problem with this blinded mindset…the democracy they are hoping to return to is the same democracy that failed. The only reason to ignore that is unwillingness to correct the problems and accept that institutions and constitutions are only words and it is from the deliberations of men and the who that are permitted into those deliberations that is of consequences.
If a team is vying for a championship and never makes any corrections it will get swamped by its opponent in a four game sweep.
Trumpism will end, but the future that comes after Trump cannot be the game plan that has not succeeded and from my perspective until the ‘liberals” can quit longing for an imaginary ideal of the heavenly government on earth they thought they had created when obviously the benches have become too hard to sit upon comfortably.
And so I suppose I will remain flummoxed until the conversation begins to be about how we can bring home and respect and include many more into the conversation and is no longer absorbed by the conception of the very nostalgia that has brought that nostalgic existence to its knees.
And just perhaps the intelligentsia needs to step out of their darkness and begin to listen to those they have imprisoned.
Because until they do, all of us remain in the darkness because no one who presumes they alone have the light-vision intelligence to show others the light, will always be seen as stumbling and they will be trampled in the ignorance of their presumed intellectual authority.
If you would like to school me privately or share openly and create a dialogue that might be forward rather than backward looking. I would like to remove the Trumpist agenda as much as anyone but I find myself uncomprehending why no one is suggesting anything but a return to what led to Trump’s victory in the first place.

That there, me boy, is called a "mic drop" and you may exit; stage left.
